Peppe Toia was born in 1980, in Palermo, Sicily.
He studied film making at NUCT – International School of Cinema and Television, getting Master's degrees in Film Directing grammar, Motion picture techniques and Theory of film editing.
He has a ten years film making and directing experience gained in many jobs, the most recent of which are: the fashion DIY tv show Re-Fashion for Real Time Channel, Coming Out for La5 Channel, L'erba del vicino for La7 Channel, I pensieri stupendi della MalaXXX also for La7, and LIB the first web series produced by Publispei and Postemobile.
He has a large experience also in big and small productions for Rai such as Ci vediamo domenica (Rai Uno) or Vite Reali (Rai Quattro), Per capirti (Rai Uno), Ricomincio da qui (Rai Due). As an independent filmmaker he directed a large number of winning award videoclips (Jovanotti Safari/Mtv award, MarteLive festival, Menobà Music Festival).
He directed several commercial and promotional films for the Italian Red Cross, and the docufiction Gente per la gente also for the Italian Red Cross.
In 2010 he directed In Attesa a short film that got a special mention at the Barcellona International Film Festival.
